Feldenkrais Method

The Feldenkrais Method of Somatic Education® is a process of exploring the integral nature of sensing, feeling, moving and thinking. Developed by Dr. Moshe Feldenkrais (1904-1984) the principles are drawn from his extensive work in physics, engineering, human developmental movement and the martial arts.

The Feldenkrais Method is for anyone who wants to connect with their full potential in:
  • performing daily activities
  • living with chronic illness
  • recovering from injury
  • increasing mental awareness and creativity

This is a learning process. You will experience the wisdom and limitations of your habitual, conditioned patterns while exploring other possibilities with increasing sensitivity. In this process you may develop greater ease and efficiency, improved balance and heightened curiosity in your physicality, your relationships and your approach to life.
Functional Integration® are private sessions individually designed based on the specific concerns of the student. With a combination of specific, non-invasive touch and verbally guided instruction I'll help you sense the movement patterns contributing to your concerns. Together we will discover new ways for you to approach the fundamental coordinations and complex organization of daily life.
Awareness Through Movement® (ATM) consists of verbally directed movement sequences presented primarily to groups. During ATM lessons you are guided in precisely structured movement explorations. Lessons may be based on developmental movement patterns, ordinary functional activities or more abstract movement explorations. Comfortable, easy movements gradually evolve into movements of greater range and complexity.

The Feldenkrais Method of Somatic Education, the Feldenkrais Method and Awareness Through Movement are registered service marks of the Feldenkrais Guild of North America.
